Welcome to Keyed In Counseling Hi, I’m KiOna Wilson, Ed.S., LPC-MHSP, and I’m so glad you’re here. I became a counselor because I believe everyone deserves a space where they can be heard, understood, and fully themselves without fear of judgment. Throughout my own life, I’ve come to understand how meaningful it can be to have a safe space to process your experiences, understand yourself more deeply, and feel supported while navigating life’s challenges. That belief became the foundation for the way I practice counseling today. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and my Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S.), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee. I work with adolescents ages 12 and older, adults, older adults, couples, and individuals navigating a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, relationship concerns, and emotional wellness. My Therapeutic Approach I believe therapy should be collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to the person sitting across from me. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, so I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and other therapeutic techniques based on your individual needs and goals. I’m especially passionate about helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and past experiences. My goal isn't simply to help you get through what you're experiencing right now. It's to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and build tools that can support you long after our sessions end. Whether you're working through trauma, struggling with anxiety or depression, navigating a major life change, trying to strengthen your relationship, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to figure it all out alone. Why "Keyed In"? The name **Keyed In Counseling** represents the heart of my approach. To be *keyed in* means to be aware, connected, and deeply attuned to what is happening. In therapy, I want to help you become more keyed in to **yourself**: your thoughts, emotions, needs, patterns, relationships, strengths, and the experiences that have shaped you. I also believe that therapy is about finding the right key for the door you're trying to open. Sometimes that key is understanding your past. Sometimes it's learning a new coping skill, setting a boundary, changing a thought pattern, processing trauma, or simply giving yourself permission to be honest about what you need. You don't have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. At Keyed In Counseling, we work together to understand what's happening, discover what you need, and find the tools that help you move forward. My goal is simple: to create a space where you feel safe enough to be seen, supported enough to heal, and empowered enough to become more fully yourself.
