Life can feel heavy sometimes — especially when stress, trauma, or burnout start taking over. If you’re feeling disconnected from yourself or struggling to manage everything on your plate, you’re in the right place. You deserve support that feels grounded, compassionate, and truly tailored to you. I’m Kirsten, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Minnesota, Idaho, and New Mexico, and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Minnesota. I’ve spent more than a decade helping people move through overwhelming experiences and into a place of confidence, hope, and healing. I’m trained in trauma-focused therapies including EMDR, Sand Tray Therapy, CAMS for suicidal safety and support, Trauma-Focused CBT, and mindfulness-based approaches. I also use Parts Work, Attachment-Based Therapy, and CBT to meet you exactly where you are and support real, meaningful change. I work with individuals and couples — and I’m especially passionate about supporting helpers: healthcare professionals, educators, and anyone working in service of others who might be feeling burnt out or carrying invisible emotional weight. I offer in-person counseling in Bemidji, MN and telehealth throughout Minnesota, Idaho, and New Mexico. I also provide clinical supervision and consulting for clinicians in Minnesota and Idaho. My Approach I believe therapy should feel like a partnership — not a performance. You won’t find judgment here or pressure to “fix” everything right away. Instead, we’ll work together to slow down, understand what your mind and body are trying to communicate, and build skills that support you both now and in the future. My style is warm, grounded, and relational. I bring curiosity, humor when it helps, and deep respect for the courage it takes to show up and do this work. I focus on helping you feel safe in your own internal experience — because real healing happens when your nervous system feels secure enough to explore, release, and rewrite old patterns. We’ll honor the strengths you already possess while also exploring the parts of you that feel afraid, exhausted, or unheard. I aim to help you reconnect with trust in yourself — your insight, your boundaries, and your capacity for healing. What to Expect in Session Our work together starts by getting to know what’s weighing on you and defining what healing could mean for your life. Some sessions may include learning grounding or coping tools; others may involve deeper trauma processing or exploring patterns in relationships and identity. We’ll move at your pace, checking in often to make sure therapy continues to feel supportive, collaborative, and aligned with your goals. Healing isn’t linear — so we’ll celebrate progress, explore setbacks with compassion, and keep coming back to what matters most: how you want to feel and who you’re becoming. If you’re ready to feel more grounded and connected in your life again, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Reach out when you’re ready — healing doesn’t have to wait. I offer EMDR intensives - please call for additional information.
