At Kind Aligned Hearts, PLLC, I believe that every child, adolescent, and young adult deserves to feel seen, heard, understood, and supported. Seeking help for emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where patients and families can begin that journey with confidence and hope. My name is Kristen Hickey, DNP, MSN, PMHNP-BC, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 23 years of experience as a psychiatric nurse and 6 years specializing in the care of children, adolescents, and young adults. Throughout my career, I have worked in community mental health, acute inpatient psychiatry, Community-Based Acute Treatment (CBAT) programs, school nursing, and nurse education. These experiences have reinforced my belief that meaningful mental health care is built on connection, trust, collaboration, and understanding. I specialize in the evaluation and treatment of ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, behavioral challenges, trauma-related and attachment disorders, and autism spectrum disorder. My approach is trauma-informed, family-centered, and individualized to each patient's unique strengths, needs, and goals. While medication management can be an important part of treatment, I believe there is much more to mental wellness than medication alone. I work collaboratively with patients and families to explore factors that influence emotional and behavioral health, including nutrition, sleep habits, physical activity, screen time, social engagement, healthy relationships, school functioning, and daily routines. Together, we develop a comprehensive treatment plan that supports the whole person and promotes long-term well-being. The name Kind Aligned Hearts reflects the values that guide my practice. I believe healing and growth happen when care is delivered with kindness, respect, and genuine partnership. My hope is that every patient and family feels welcomed, supported, and empowered throughout their mental health journey. Whether you are seeking support for attention difficulties, anxiety, mood concerns, behavioral challenges, trauma, or emotional regulation, I look forward to partnering with you and your family to help your child or young adult thrive at home, in school, and within their community.
