I’m Kristen (Kristy) Fuller, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing individualized, compassionate mental health care to adolescents, adults, and families. I received my Master of Science in Nursing from the Yale School of Nursing, where I completed specialized training in psychiatric–mental health across the lifespan. My clinical background includes extensive experience working in the Yale New Haven Hospital Psychiatric Emergency Department and the Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital’s Young Adult Inpatient Unit. Through these roles, I’ve gained deep expertise in completing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, providing medication management, stabilizing patients during acute crises, assessing and treating substance use concerns, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary treatment teams. I am skilled in managing complex psychiatric presentations, acute safety concerns, and co-occurring medical and behavioral health needs. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent nearly a decade working as a school psychologist and mental health clinician in educational settings, emergency rooms, and community-based programs. This experience provided a strong foundation in developmental psychology, neuropsychological and behavioral assessment, trauma-informed care, learning disabilities, and family systems—all of which shape my approach to care. In my private practice, I offer evidence-based psychiatric treatment that is collaborative, respectful, and tailored to each individual. I have a strong clinical interest and specialized experience in mood disorders, first-episode psychotic disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, suicide prevention, school-related concerns (including learning disabilities and ADHD, and behavioral challenges). My therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and supportive, and I strive to ensure that every client feels heard, validated, and empowered throughout their treatment. I believe mental health care should feel safe, accessible, and deeply personal. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where you can develop insight, build stability, and move toward long-lasting wellness.
