I’m Kristina Dempster, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work extensively with adolescents experiencing behavioral and emotional struggles, including anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and challenges related to trauma and life circumstances. I enjoy helping young people better understand themselves, develop healthy coping skills, build confidence, and learn new ways to navigate difficult emotions and relationships. I also work with adults who may be experiencing life struggles, transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, or simply feel stuck and unsure of what comes next. My goal is to meet each person where they are and work alongside them to identify their strengths, overcome obstacles, and create a path toward greater emotional well-being. For couples, I provide marriage and relationship counseling and have completed training through the Gottman Institute, incorporating evidence-based strategies to help couples improve communication, strengthen their connection, work through conflict, and build healthier relationships. I have also completed Adoption Competency Training, providing additional understanding and support for individuals and families navigating adoption-related experiences and challenges. My approach to counseling is client-centered and trauma-informed. I believe every person has a unique story, and effective counseling begins with understanding that story. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work collaboratively with each client to develop goals and strategies that fit their individual needs, values, and circumstances. Whether you are a teenager struggling with emotions or behaviors, an adult navigating a difficult season of life, or a couple hoping to strengthen your relationship, you don’t have to navigate it alone. My hope is to provide a place where you can feel safe, supported, and encouraged as you work toward healing and positive change.
