My name is Kris, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Oregon and Washington. Helping people find their best selves has been a lifelong passion, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work in the counseling field since 2009. My professional experience includes individuals who have experienced trauma, individuals managing complex medical conditions, chronic pain, or traumatic brain injury as well as individuals in the justice system. I primarily work with adult individuals, couples, and groups. I also enjoy working with therapists seeking their own therapy, and leaders who are striving to bring their best self to their leadership roles. Treatment Orientations Starting a therapy journey can bring up a multitude of feelings. As your therapist, I strive to create a warm, authentic, and non-judgmental environment for healing. In this therapeutic space, we explore the concerns that brought you to therapy, as well as your strengths and what is going well. I view therapy as a collaborative process in which you are the expert in your own life, and I am able to reflect an outside perspective to help you see yourself in new ways, to explore the ways in which you may feel stuck or trapped, to help illuminate new pathways, and to provide skills and strategies you might not have yet explored. In this process, we will discover multiple ways in which your life may unfold, and empower you to choose which path to take. Toward this end, I utilize an integrative approach, grounded in relational and attachment theories. The techniques I use incorporate body, mind, and spirit, and include well-researched modalities, including Heart Centered Hypnotherapy (certified), EMDR (certified), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (informed), Expressive Arts, Somatic Therapy, ACT, HRV Biofeedback, Trauma Informed Movement, Yoga (certified), Grief Yoga Informed, Attachment Based Family Therapy (level 1 trained) and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
