Introduction

I consult with a range of clients, from women-owned local businesses, groups of therapists who need care themselves and connection with other therapists (so they aren’t doing it all alone while they tend to others’ needs), to venture capitalists. I've helped clients notice and begin dialoguing with parts of themselves who get in their own way, for example, a part of themselves who procrastinates. I've then helped clients listen to this procrastinating part's unmet needs -- such as its need for safety, a fear of failure, a need to be perfect, etc. What we often learn from parts is that the ways they go about trying to meet their needs unfortunately often creates the very thing they fear. In a procrastinating part's case, the result may be feeling more unsafe, feeling more like a failure, and less perfect after missing business opportunities they could have succeeded at, had they taken action, rather than procrastinated. Once clients are regularly dialoguing with the parts of themselves, parts like as procrastinating parts become more open to another way of having their needs be met, such as the client's Self energy (our inner resource of calm, confidence, ease, etc.) leading the way, with very different results, such as completing tasks with calm, ease, and confidence -- and greater success. I will guide you through these corrective dialoguing experiences in session, and create a bespoke action plan for you to maintain them outside of session, so that you will go from getting into your own way to advancing toward your goal destinations. I am IFS Institute trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy Level 1, Level 2, & Level 3, as well as Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) therapy (the couples version of IFS), in Authentic or Nonviolent Communication (NVC), I have completed postdoctoral coursework at the C. G. Jung Institute in NYC, and I have served as an IFS Level 1 Program Assistant to help other therapists learn IFS. I'm an able-bodied cisgender white person, I am working to be more conscious of my privilege, and to use it to hopefully help make the world better for everyone. My ancestors came to the United States from Europe and the Middle East. I am a mother, a feminist, and a lesbian. I am working to better understand the marginalization of others, and I hope to be considered an ally. In addition to work, I'm fond of being with family and friends, foraging for black licorice, and devouring detective novels. After our consultation, I'll identify how I can help you meet your needs and goals.
