Introduction

Hi, I’m Kristine! I provide virtual therapy for teens and adults across Pennsylvania, with a special focus on helping young people who feel overwhelmed by school anxiety, avoidance, and the pressure to keep up. School-related anxiety can show up in many ways. A student may dread going to school, frequently ask to stay home, experience physical symptoms in the morning, avoid certain classes or assignments, struggle with perfectionism, or feel increasingly behind and unsure how to return to their usual routine. What begins as an attempt to escape anxiety can gradually make school feel even more difficult. I help students understand this cycle and take manageable steps toward feeling safer, more capable, and more confident. I also specialize in treating OCD and other anxiety disorders. Using evidence-based approaches including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), I help clients reduce avoidance, respond differently to intrusive thoughts and worries, and develop practical skills they can use at school, at home, and in everyday life. In addition to my private practice work, I am a school social worker who supports middle and high school students through individual and group counseling. This experience gives me a strong understanding of the academic, social, emotional, and family pressures students may face. I enjoy helping students navigate concerns such as school refusal, attendance difficulties, academic anxiety, test anxiety, perfectionism, social worries, transitions, and feeling overwhelmed by expectations. My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative while also being active and goal-focused. Therapy is not only a place to talk about what feels difficult. It is also a place to practice new ways of responding. Together, we will identify the patterns keeping anxiety and avoidance going, develop realistic strategies, and create gradual goals that help you or your teen move forward without feeling pushed too quickly. Outside of work, I’m a huge animal lover and enjoy spending time with my two spoiled cats. I also love watching movies, getting lost in a good book, and finding opportunities to relax and recharge. Reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when anxiety has begun interfering with school, routines, relationships, or daily life. You do not have to figure it out alone. I offer a free 15-minute consultation where you can ask questions, learn more about my approach, and see whether we may be a good fit. There is no pressure—just an opportunity to connect and begin considering the next manageable step.
