Introduction

Ms. Woods has specialized training in school-related assessment and educational intervention for children and adolescents ages 6-18. She has worked in various public and private school systems, serving elementary, middle, and high school students. Ms. Woods takes great care in conducting comprehensive neurodevelopmental and psychoeducational evaluations to identify giftedness, learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and other emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders. She has particular expertise in assessing and identifying Autism Spectrum Disorder in older children and adolescents. In her therapeutic work, Ms. Woods collaborates with children and adolescents experiencing emotional and/or behavioral difficulties. She also enjoys working with children and adolescents struggling with executive functioning difficulties related to academic success. Ms. Woods utilizes a range of evidence-based techniques, including Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies, with a specialization in the treatment of anxiety and specific phobias. Additionally, Ms. Woods provides training and support to parents of anxious children to ensure a cohesive, supportive approach across home and school settings. Ms. Woods was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. She completed her undergraduate degree from Cleveland State University in Ohio, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Political Science. She worked as a Supportive Counselor at a therapeutic group home before obtaining her graduate degrees from Marshall University, which included a Master of Arts in Psychology and an Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology. For the last eight years, Ms. Woods has been employed as a school psychologist in Ohio and Florida and remains an active National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) member. In her free time, Ms. Woods enjoys running, traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with her husband and daughter.
