Introduction

Welcome! My name is Krysta Wuertz, M.A.Ed, LPC, CTRS and owner of Reins of Grace Counseling. I am a 2005 graduate of the University of Findlay, where I studied western equestrian studies, psychology, and therapeutic recreation. I recently attended Malone University where I obtained my master's in clinical mental health counseling and graduated in May 2025. I have spent over 20 years working in mental health including inpatient, outpatient, community mental health and intensive outpatient settings. I am licensed in the State of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and nationally certified as a Recreation Therapist (CTRS). I will combine my expertise in both mental health treatment and working with horses to meet you where you are and work towards your mental health goals. I am a relational, person-centered counselor that focuses on you as a person including all areas of your life. I pull from a variety of therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, solution-focused and more. I treat clients with anxiety, depression, grief, phase of life stressors, relationship issues (including couples), adolescent/teen health and women's health. I opened Reins of Grace Counseling in 2026 to provide individual, couples, group counseling to people looking for counseling in a creative way. If horses are not your thing, that is OK, I also provide sessions without the horse to help meet your needs as well. I provide telehealth options currently and hope to hold in person sessions coming in the spring/summer of 2026. Reins of Grace Counseling LLC is a homage to my childhood quarter horse Maggie. She was the epitome of a therapy horse. Maggie taught me to take life by the reins focusing on helping others solve their problems and live a healthy life. Maggie was filled with empathy, grace, love and support all wrapped up in a horse. Using the majestic horse as my partner, I plan to live out Maggie's legacy by providing support, encouragement, and Grace to all who are struggling with mental illness. I look forward to speaking with you.
