Introduction

Kyle A. Lewis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in San Diego, California. In 2020, Kyle founded Ebb and Flow Psychotherapy to serve his home community with compassionate, trauma-informed care. Kyle’s clinical focus centers on helping individuals heal from complex trauma and anxiety. Kyle holds a Master of Science in Professional Clinical Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Early in his academic career, Kyle participated in a research project exploring the effects of trauma on undergraduate student success rates, which included attending The International Trauma Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, hosted by renowned trauma expert Dr. Bessel van der Kolk. This formative experience solidified his dedication to working with trauma-impacted populations. As a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, Kyle integrates EMDR with evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to tailor treatment to each client’s needs. In addition to his clinical work, Kyle is passionate about supporting the next generation of therapists. As a supervisor, Kyle’s goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where associates can grow with confidence, deepen their clinical skills, and become the life-changing clinicians they aspire to be.
