Introduction

I believe in a collaborative therapeutic relationship, meaning that we work together to identify problems you are experiencing, your values, changes you would like to see in your life, and goals in line with your values. I have a free 15-20 minute phone call with each person who is interested in therapy to discuss what you are interested in working on and whether my services are a good fit. If we decide to meet, we will have an initial session (about 90 minutes) to talk about the problems you want help with in more detail and make a plan for therapy. It is best if we can meet weekly for about a month when we start therapy to get the ball rolling! I can meet with people every two weeks or once a month, but it's better if we work together for a while before changing to this schedule. I have a primary background in cognitive behavioral therapy, but I also use an integrative approach, meaning I often pull in other therapeutic techniques to complement our therapy. In cognitive behavioral therapy, we explore together how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact with the problems you are working on. You are the expert on your own experiences, and it can be helpful to consider different perspectives in times of change, times when we feel “stuck,” or when the ways we have been coping with our problems don’t work as well as we would like. I have experience helping people with many different problems, but I do have some specialty areas. I enjoy working with people who have ADHD on behavioral skills. I also support LGBTQ populations and have expertise in providing letters for gender affirming surgeries. I am also happy to work with you on concerns related to sexual health (such as desire/libido concerns, communication, etc.).
