Hi, I'm Hillary. I was born and raised in Durango, so I know this community from the inside — the good parts and the hard parts of building a life in a small mountain town. I came to this work through needing it myself. In my youth and early adulthood I went through some hard things I couldn't get past on my own, and a therapist helped me move forward. That's why I do this now. I work mostly with women and young adults in life transitions: starting college, ending a relationship, stepping into a chapter that doesn't have a shape yet. I also help people heal from traumatic events, whether recent or something they've been carrying a long time. Most people come in carrying something. A memory they can't stop turning over. A weight that's been there so long it feels like part of who they are. A relationship that needs sorting through, or the work of moving on after one has ended. None of that has to stay where it is. What I've seen again and again is that what you're carrying gets lighter when you're not carrying it alone. My approach is solution-focused. People don't come to therapy to sit with a problem, they come because they want a way forward. The methods I use are evidence-based and grounded in how the brain actually heals, and I've put in hundreds of hours of training so your time here is time well spent. Reaching out can feel intimidating. If you're unsure, that's normal — send me a message and we'll figure out if I'm the right fit. No pressure either way.
