Hello! My name is Laïla (she/they). I’m a Licensed Clinical Social worker, licensed in both Maryland and Pennsylvania. I am also an Internal Family Systems Level One Therapist and trained in Contextually-Focused Dialectical Behavior Therapy! My practice is shaped by several years of on-the-ground experience in community mental health, clinical case management and across the continuum of crisis care in both clinical and community settings within the United States and the United Kingdom. As a queer first-generation American (Puerto Rican and Moroccan) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C/LCSW), I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to our work together. I approach therapy with curiosity and a non-pathologizing lens honoring your worldview, cultural roots, and experiences that shape the ways in which you move through the world. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, collaborative, and non-hierarchical. Going at the speed of safety and consent, my approach adapts to your needs—whether you prefer a solution-focused style, existential exploration, or a blend of both. I believe your identity and experiences are deserving of thoughtful exploration, witnessing and celebration. Our work together centers on meeting you where you are and creating a space to untangle the threads of your story, honor the interconnectedness of all your parts and navigate the in-between spaces of your journey with intention and care. Together we’ll encounter and create new portals to self discoveries, self healing and authentic embodiment. Learn more about my approach and specialties at https://www.portalpsych.com/ -L
