Introduction

Hi, I’m Lara. I’m a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lebanon Valley College. I'm committed to creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change and personal growth. I work with adolescents and adults who are feeling overwhelmed by the demands of everyday life and the constant pressure to hold it all together. I provide compassionate therapy using evidence-based approaches like CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to treat • Anxiety and stress • Depression and mood challenges • Identity and self-esteem • Life transitions (school, career, relationships) • Family and interpersonal dynamics • Nonsuicidal self-injury My goal is to empower clients by helping manage emotions, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build resilience for lasting change. I intentionally maintain a small caseload to provide individualized attention and ensure sessions are tailored to your unique needs and treatment goals. _____________________________________________________ White Woods Counseling Services is named after Blanche DuBois, a character from Tennessee Williams’ "A Streetcar Named Desire." Her name, when translated from French, means “white woods.” Blanche's character was imperfect, complex, and resilient. Like many of use, she struggled to be her authentic self, feeling pressure to live up to impossible standards. She masked her vulnerability in a system that failed to accept her. This practice is named in recognition of the healing that comes with being met with compassion rather than judgment, and the profound difference that the right kind of support can make in one’s story. At White Woods Counseling Services, you don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need a supportive space to start writing your next chapter. _____________________________________________________ To schedule a free 15-minute consultation, click the "Contact" email icon at the top of the page or the blue "Request Appointment" button on the top right to send me a message.
