Hello! My name is Lara Jane, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a heart for supporting children, teens, and adults through life’s challenges. I specialize in helping clients navigate trauma, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, identity questions, relationship struggles, and the lasting impact of early adversity or attachment wounds. I earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University, where I learned to approach therapy with deep respect for each person’s unique story and individual strengths. My background in parenting, foster care, adoption, and special education informs the way I connect with and advocate for clients and families. Whether I’m playing with a child, holding space for a teen who feels invisible, or helping an adult reconnect with themselves after trauma, I strive to create a space that feels safe, collaborative, and respectful. My approach to counseling is warm, affirming, and rooted in the belief that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and understood. I tailor each session to the individual, drawing from a variety of modalities—including Play therapy techniques, Sandtray, EMDR (including for Traumatic Brain Injury), Mindfulness, Somatic Awareness, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)—to support healing at both the emotional and nervous system levels. Sessions are designed to be safe and collaborative, offering space to explore not only what’s happening on the surface but also the deeper patterns and experiences shaping your thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. I attend to the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and seek to empower you with empathy, compassion, curiosity, and support as we walk together toward healing and greater connection with yourself and others. In our work together, you can expect to gain greater self-understanding, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools and strategies to support lasting change. Part of my role is to help you make sense of your experiences and reconnect with your own inner strength, wisdom, and capacity for growth. While the work of therapy—self-discovery, reflection, and meaningful change—ultimately belongs to you, you won’t have to do it alone. If you’re ready to engage in that process, I’ll be here to support you every step of the way.
