Welcome! I’m LaToya Gatewood, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, tailoring therapy to the unique needs of each person rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and communication difficulties, family conflict, life transitions, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and coping with overwhelming stress. I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Reality/Choice Theory, motivational interviewing, and skills from DBT and ACT. My approach is supportive, practical, and collaborative. While therapy provides a safe place to process what you are experiencing, I also believe in helping clients develop skills they can use outside of the therapy room. Together, we can identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, strengthen coping and communication skills, and work toward changes that feel realistic and meaningful.
