Introduction

Hi, I'm Laura, a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Emberlight Counseling. I became a therapist because I've experienced firsthand how transformative it can be to feel truly seen, understood, and accepted. My own journey through anxiety, self-doubt, and personal growth shaped not only my path into this profession, but also the way I show up with clients—with warmth, authenticity, and genuine curiosity. I work primarily with adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, relationship challenges, perfectionism, life transitions, and the lasting impact of relational and attachment wounds. Many of my clients have spent years taking care of others, questioning themselves, or feeling disconnected from who they are. Together, we explore those patterns with compassion, helping you cultivate greater self-trust, healthier relationships, and a stronger connection to yourself. My approach is rooted in Person-Centered and Relational-Cultural Therapy, while thoughtfully integrating attachment-focused, mindfulness-based, somatic, ACT, CBT, and DBT-informed interventions when they support your goals. I believe therapy is most meaningful when it feels like a genuine relationship rather than a checklist of techniques. We'll work collaboratively to understand not only what's happening in your life today, but also how your experiences have shaped the way you relate to yourself and others. Whether we meet in my Meridian office, outdoors through nature-based therapy, or virtually anywhere in Idaho, my hope is to create a space where every part of you is welcome. Healing isn't about becoming someone new—it's about reconnecting with the person you've always been beneath the adaptations, self-doubt, and survival strategies.
