The appeal of therapy for me was always that it is a place you can actually open up about the real things in your life - not just the surface ones - and receive intentional support based in both intellectual ideas AND warm, compassionate, genuine human connection. I now strive to create this experience for each of my clients - a place where they can feel comfortable, explore their growth edges, let their emotions flow, and gain inspiration for how to make the changes in life they seek. I use Humanistic, Gestalt, and Existential theories as the foundation of my approach. I also have training in brainspotting - a somatic mind-body approach that assists in working directly with the subcortical brain and regulating the nervous system. Your personal beliefs are important and centered in therapy, and as such I do ask clients about their philosophical, existential, and spiritual beliefs about life. We can incorporate these into your therapy experience as you explore what you believe, the meaning you find in life, and what is healthy and supportive for you at this time. If you have questions for me, please don't hesitate to reach out via email - laura@deepthinkertherapy.com or call/text (682) 207-5370.
