Introduction

Dr. Laura L. Walsh, PsyD Licensed Clinical Psychologist | Forensic & AI Risk Consultant | Author I've never been satisfied with surface answers. As an engineer's daughter, I was wired early to ask why — to trace things back to their roots and understand how the pieces connect. That instinct is what makes you, and the particular shape of your life, genuinely fascinating to me. There are countless ways to be a person. The choices you've made, the ones you're facing, and the ones you didn't know you had — that's where the real work lives. Therapy with me is practical. I'm active and direct in sessions: no nodding silently from behind a notepad. My job is to help you connect the dots, build real insight into yourself and the people around you, and find your footing as someone who actually shapes your own life — not just reacts to it. Change should have meaningful, attainable steps. I hold a BA in Psychology (minor in Philosophy) from Texas State University and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. A native Southerner, I've lived all over — from Chicago to the mountains of Colorado, where I now call home with my rescue dogs, Penny and Fiona. Current focus areas include: Addictions · Suicide loss · Adult ADHD · LGBTQ+ concerns · Kink/poly relationships · Dating & couples counseling Practical stuff: I offer telehealth via secure video or phone. You'll have access to a client portal for paperwork, messaging, and scheduling. Want to go deeper between sessions? My subscription community REFRAMED extends and enriches our work — learn more at reframedself.com.
