Welcome! My name is Laura Levitt and I'm a Brooklyn-based psychotherapist. I work with people who are looking to heal from trauma, identify as LGBTQIA+, are hoping to improve relationships, or just want a space to process being alive in a complex world. I approach my work with compassion, humor, and warmth, knowing that the best experiences in therapy come from an honest and trusting relationship with the therapist. Together we'll explore how the specific personal, familial, and cultural context of your life shapes who you are and how you feel today. I am an integrative psychotherapist, weaving together a range of psychotherapeutic techniques. I have extensive training in trauma-focused modalities, including EMDR, somatic psychotherapies, AEDP, IFS-informed approaches, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Outside of my work as a clinician, I am the Associate Director of the Trauma Studies Center at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy, where I'm deeply committed to training therapists in compassionate and effective trauma treatment.
