Does the world feel exceedingly difficult right now? Do things feel out of your control, and you find yourself navigating intrusive thoughts, high anxiety, and feel depressed? If so, perhaps I can assist. My name is Laura, and I’ve been in this field since 2012. I believe in meeting clients where they are, and working together to establish tangible and realistic goals. I’m trained in several trauma-informed evidence-based modalities to assist with children, teens, adults and families. I know finding the right therapist for you and your needs can, at times, feel overwhelming. I firmly believe in finding the right “fit” for you. I hope I may be that person for you, and we can navigate all that is going on in your life right now together. For over the last decade, I have been working at mental health agencies in Albuquerque, providing therapy services to young children, teens, adults, parents and families. In addition, for the last several years, I’ve also been supervising other therapists, working with both those that are new to the field as well as seasoned therapists. I love working with parents (and families!) navigating the complexities of parenthood, breaking cycles and raising littles. When working with children, I believe in the importance of working and engaging the family to work to implement long-lasting change. I have extensive training in several therapeutic modalities, such as Trauma Focused-CBT, Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC), Practice Self-Regulation (PSR), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing and TheraPlay. I am nationally rostered in the evidence-based therapeutic modality Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) that works with youth ages 0-5 in family sessions with their grownups, to navigate after a significant life stressor. If any of this aligns with you, or you’re curious to learn more, I’d love the opportunity to chat and see if we may be a good fit together.
