Introduction

Becoming a parent can change us in ways we anticipate—and in ways we never could have imagined. Pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and reproductive experiences don’t always unfold the way we hoped or expected. When they don’t, you may find yourself overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, or wondering where you fit in this new version of your life. I’m Lauren Bosler, a licensed social worker specializing in perinatal and reproductive mental health. I support birthing parents and families navigating pregnancy and postpartum transitions, medicalized birth, NICU experiences, trauma, and the complex identity shifts that can accompany parenthood. My graduate research explores maternal mortality, NICU adjustment, and PTSD in mothers of multiples, and I have specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and adjustment. I believe that feeling understood and supported can make a real difference when you’re going through something difficult. My goal is to create a space where you can slow down, feel safe, and make sense of what you’ve been through without judgment. Together, we can work through what’s weighing on you, understand how these experiences have affected you, and find your way forward. I bring compassion, curiosity, and an openness to understanding your experience on your terms. I also bring personal lived experience to this work as a mother of multiples whose children experienced medical complexity and NICU hospitalization. I understand that the transition into parenthood can look very different when it includes medical uncertainty, prolonged hospitalization, or experiences that challenge your expectations of what becoming a parent would be. This perspective informs the empathy and attunement I bring to my work while honoring that every family’s experience is unique. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether you are struggling to process a difficult birth or NICU experience, navigating anxiety or trauma, or simply trying to find yourself again during a major life transition, I’m here to walk alongside you. In addition to specializing in perinatal and reproductive health, Lauren has experience working as a Forensic Program Coordinator, providing trauma-informed case management, assessments, psychotherapy, and multidisciplinary collaboration with law enforcement and community partners.
