Maybe you know exactly what happened to you. Maybe you don’t. Maybe you’ve done the therapy, read the books, learned the coping skills, and understand your patterns better than anyone. And yet, your body still feels stuck in survival mode. You’re exhausted but can’t slow down. You feel disconnected from yourself. You overthink everything. You shut down when things feel overwhelming. You struggle to trust, set boundaries, feel safe, or stay present in your own life. Knowing what happened is one thing. Feeling safe in your body is another. I’m Lauren Botelho, LICSW, and I believe healing trauma requires more than simply talking about what happened. Our bodies can hold onto experiences long after the immediate danger has passed—and sometimes, the body needs to be part of the healing process too. My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in somatic, body-based therapy. Together, we’ll explore the connection between your nervous system, emotions, thoughts, relationships, and lived experiences so you can begin to understand not only *why* you respond the way you do, but what your body may be trying to tell you. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you. You were never broken. It’s about creating enough safety, awareness, and connection to move out of survival mode and toward a life that actually feels like your own. If you’re ready to start listening to what your body has been trying to say, I’m here. You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly what you need. Reach out, tell me a little about what’s bringing you here, and we can explore whether working together feels like the right fit. Come as you are.
