I am a licensed clinical professional counselor with nearly 15 years of experience providing counseling services in Maryland and Washington DC. I believe the foundation of psychotherapy (and sometimes life) is understanding. I aim to fully understand you and your experiences and needs as they are--all while giving you the space to understand yourself in new ways. While Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is my "base," I prefer therapy when it is flexible, integrative, and honors the many pathways that can lead us to improved wellbeing. As such, I love weaving insight-oriented, positive psychology, interpersonal interventions into my work. I value psychotherapy that is rooted in trust, empathy, relatability, and often a touch of humor. I am most energized when working with: working professionals, those who tend to care for others first; deep thinkers; people looking to heal from imperfect relationships (parent-child, intimate partners); people navigating racial trauma and systems of injustice; and those navigating grief & loss. After spending 14 years in higher education, I am also interested in supporting education professionals. LIVED EXPERIENCE & ABOUT ME I am a self-proclaimed "Blerd" raising two children in a multiracial and multifaith family. I entered college as a first-generation student and was honored to attend Towson University and Loyola University. I love learning and I am constantly humbled by how much I have to learn and discover about people, the world, and life. In my personal life, I enjoy making memories with my family and friends, connecting with nature (hence the practice name), and nerding out over whatever book and television series has captured my heart.
