Hi, I’m Lauren, and I can do a pretty funny Australian accent. I have an MA in Couples and Family Therapy, a BA in Philosophy, and I’m trained in studying Vampire nesting habits. Ok, that last one isn’t true. I like to read sci-fi, play video games of all kinds, play drums, and spend time with my friends, partners, and chosen family. I primarily utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Social Justice/Feminist Theory Counseling, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy with pieces here and there from Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Bowenian Family Therapy. Central to my collaborative, therapeutic style is leveraging your values to find and become the person or partner you want to be, helping you find your way to health, and rewriting the meaning of life and relationships. I work primarily with LGBTQIA+ clients, with a special focus on transgender and gender diverse individuals and couples. I have experience working with people who are navigating: - Mood, behavior, and emotion (e.g. anxiety, depression, anger, self-image and self-esteem, self-harm) - Relationship concerns (e.g. polyamory, sexual health and intimacy, neurodivergence, parenting queer youth) - Identity development (e.g. gender identity, sexual/romantic orientation, kinky identity) - Social justice and discrimination concerns (e.g. queer, transgender/gender non-conforming, disability) - Diverse relationships (e.g. multiracial/multicultural partners, neurodiversity in relationships, polyamory, parenting queer youth - Trauma and PTSD I’m always looking to learn more about people and the world, so if these don’t quite describe what you’re looking for, I’m still excited to get to know you and see if we may still be a good fit to work together!
