LaWanda Hanes is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Life Transformation Coach who helps you develop a healthy self-concept, heal wounds of the past, eliminate self-limiting beliefs, and activate your strengths to experience more joy, peace, and fulfillment in every area of life. LaWanda specializes in trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She works with women and men ranging from emerging adulthood (early 20s) through late adulthood as well as couples. She has facilitated psychoeducational support groups for survivors of domestic violence and continues to lead groups focused on breaking self-sabotaging patterns, grief support, and emotional wellness. With over two decades of experience in counseling, guiding, and equipping individuals, LaWanda has a strong ability to help others feel comfortable, safe, and supported in her presence. She is compassionate, empathetic, and energetic, and allows individuals to feel heard, accepted, and empowered to grow. LaWanda holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma (BBA, a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University (MBA), and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling (MAPC) at Dallas Baptist University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council.
