For more than 20 years, I’ve worked with people who want to understand themselves more deeply and feel more at home in their lives and relationships. Often, the patterns that trouble us once helped us get through something difficult. In therapy, we can make room to understand those patterns, listen to what they’ve been protecting, and discover new ways of responding. Many clients come to me after years in therapy, ready for something different. I combine psychodynamic insight with a relational focus and somatic awareness, shifting from analytic work to embodied practices that change how it actually feels to live as yourself. My approach brings together psychodynamic therapy, somatic work, and an attention to the relationship between mind, body, and nervous system. I’m interested in what happens beneath the story: the feelings that are hard to name, the ways we protect ourselves, and the moments when something new becomes possible. I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and psychedelic integration. Therapy with me is collaborative, thoughtful, and deeply human. You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly articulated problem or a clear plan. We can begin with what’s happening now and follow it together. I earned my BSW from New York University and my MSW from Columbia University, and completed postgraduate training at the New York Institute for Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York. LeahODonnellLCSW.com
