Therapy requires a high degree of trust and vulnerability, and it's important to make sure you're connected to the right fit. Here's some information about my practice to help you make an informed decision. As a therapist, my approach to working with clients is eclectic, affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally-responsive. In order to best address the individual needs and preferences of my clients, I've pursued clinical training in diverse types of psychotherapy. I may use interventions from more than one theoretical framework if I determine that this is likely to be more effective and clinically warranted. I have advanced training and expertise in the treatment of traumatic stress disorders and psychotherapy with LGBTQIA+ adults. Therapeutic frameworks and interventions frequently used by me include EMDR, IFS ("Parts Work"), CBT, mindfulness, and somatic approaches. I am Certified as an EMDR Therapist by the EMDR International Association. For the majority of my career, I have worked with clinical populations of people that experience oppression and marginalization. Specific populations with which I have advanced skill and experience include people belonging to immigrant, refugee, and trans/nb communities.
