Introduction

My objective in counseling is to help you clarify issues, gain insight into your thoughts and feelings to deal effectively with problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, substance abuse, alcoholism, and grief. I will work with you to help you identify your strengths, gain insight into your ways of thinking, feelings and begin a process of change and growth. Sometimes you know WHAT you need to do but just can’t do it! Counseling can help you understand what is getting in your way of making the changes you want in your life. Counseling can also teach you ways of dealing with stressful life events and circumstances you cannot change. My goal is to help you analyze and respond to the internal pressures and negative attitudes towards yourself or others. Lenice has been working in the Behavioral Health field since 2005 and has a vast experience with different treatment modalities such as assessments, intakes, psycho educational groups, psychotherapy groups, seminars, individual therapy, family therapy and couples counseling. Her expertise has led her to do many presentations, classes and workshops. She has successfully helped others address a wide variety of issues through a genuine therapeutic alliance. Her areas of interests include: Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Grief and Loss, Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Self-Esteem Issues, Stress Management, Alcohol & Substance Abuse Issues, LGBTQI Issues, Psychotic Disorders, Career & Work Issues, and Relationship Issues. Lenice’s education and credentials encompasses an Education Specialist in Professional Counseling (Ed.S.), Master of Science in Professional Counseling (M.S.), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is also a member of the American Counseling Association. Lenice’s work career in the Behavioral Health field started as a therapist leading groups in an Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Hospitalization Program. Her focus moved in time from mental health to substance abuse and eventually to co-occurring disorders (mental health & substance abuse issues). Lenice then started concentrating on assessments as well as individual counseling. Her skills led her to work in management as a clinical coordinator, supervising staff in an Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Hospitalization Program. Her responsibilities grew to incorporate some aspects of Court Services and a 24/7 Crises Call Center. As Lenice began to center her attention to outpatient services, it became apparent how much she missed and enjoyed the therapeutic process. Lenice is pleased to be have come full circle and be back doing what she loves, working with individuals, family and couples in her tele-mental health practice.
