Founder of American Integrative Psychiatry, PLLC Welcome. My name is Leslie Lartey, and I am the founder of American Integrative Psychiatry. I established this practice with a singular vision: to bring high-quality, evidence-based, and human-centered psychiatric care directly to the underserved rural communities of Virginia. Having seen the disparity in access between major urban centers and our rural neighbors, I am deeply committed to ensuring that geography never dictates the quality of your mental health care. My Approach: Care Across the Lifespan Mental health is not a one-size-fits-all experience, and I take pride in supporting patients through every phase of life. Children & Adolescents: I recognize that today’s youth are navigating a rapidly changing, high-distraction world. Using evidence-based assessment and testing, I specialize in identifying and managing ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders, helping your child find the focus and stability they need to thrive. Adults: Whether you are balancing the intense pressures of your career, navigating complex life transitions, or managing everyday stress, I am here to provide both medication management and therapeutic support to help you tackle the challenges of modern life. Older Adults: I understand the unique weight that comes with later life—dealing with the loss of partners, shifts in roles, and the complex additive effects of chronic illness. With my background in Nephrology/ internal medicine and my extensive career in nursing and nursing education, I possess a unique ability to understand how physical health and mental well-being intersect. I am dedicated to helping older adults manage these challenges with dignity, ensuring they maintain their quality of life. My professional journey is rooted in both Nephrology and comprehensive nursing. This experience gives me a broader perspective than the average psychiatric provider; I understand the physical body, the impact of chronic illness, and the necessity of evidence-based, safe clinical interventions. I founded American Integrative Psychiatry because I believe everyone deserves to live at their optimum potential, regardless of where they live. You are more than a set of symptoms, and my goal is to help you navigate the "heavy days" and regain the clarity you need to live the life you envision. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward better mental health.
