My name is Leslie Robles, and I identify as a Mexican-American woman who grew up in the city of Huntington Park, California. I've been dedicated to the therapeutic and counseling profession for the last 13 years. Throughout this time, I've worked with the community in many capacities; from a higher education setting to a therapeutic safe space. My primary focus is to always work for the people in guiding them on finding peace and self-acceptance. As a person who has worn many professional hats, currently an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist one, I continue to work with at-risk youth, with marginalized communities, and with individuals from various cultural backgrounds. Throughout the years, with personal experiences and interactions with friends, I have been able to see the need for youth programs, education on mental health, and the need for holding safe spaces to be oneself. This has led me to work with our young population in teen centers, providing mental health services in a capacity where empathy-social justice is valued and accepted with everyone, and working in guiding first generation students on navigating higher education and personal life by developing positive emotional growth. I do recognize life challenges happen at any moment, and I strongly believe each individual holds their own power and positive energy to find emotional healing.
