Some people find me looking for something specific: a symptom is nagging, and it is time to get to the root of it. More often it’s less nameable. Life looks great from the outside, and despite real accomplishment something still feels missing, or strangely off. Reactions out of proportion to your circumstances. Evenings that disappear into scrolling, to quiet the little feeling underneath. You may even question if it makes sense to want more at all. It does. You need no diagnosis. I practice psychodynamic therapy, going beyond symptoms. I listen for what is said, and what is not: the difficult thing told lightly, the patterns beneath. You are deeply known, accepted, and challenged over time, at your pace, until insight becomes lasting change. It lasts as long as it serves you. You decide. I am a licensed psychologist, seeing people in person in Kansas City and by secure video across PSYPACT states. The therapy I practice is deep, and rarer than it once was, but it is very much alive.
