Introduction

I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma-related symptoms, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and the complicated business of figuring out where you fit—and whether you even want to. In sessions, we work together to understand what happened, make sense of where you are now, and figure out where you want to go from here. The big message -- you are not broken, you are not lost, and you are not a burden. And, fortunately, there is hope, and you don't have to figure it all out alone. My approach centers on trauma work, with EMDR and DBT being core parts of how I practice. I've seen how much the body holds onto what the mind can't fully process, and EMDR gives us a way to work through that without needing to relive every detail out loud. DBT helps us acknowledge difficult realities without stopping there—it gives us concrete things we can actually do. I meet people where they are, whether that means diving into deep trauma processing or simply having a steady, grounded presence while you figure out what you need. Please feel free to schedule a free consultation with me, and let's see if this would be a good fit! www.blackheart-therapy.com
