Hello, my name is Dr. Lina Rodriguez. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist™ (RPT™). I am certified in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, and Child-Centered Group Play Therapy. I have experience providing individual and group counseling to children ages 3+, adolescents, and adults. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in community and university clinics, as well as a nonprofit agency supporting survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Alongside my private practice, I continue to teach and supervise within university counseling programs, where I support emerging counselors in developing their clinical skills with children and families. I have also conducted research exploring the importance of the parent-child relationship and children’s ability to express their needs, emotions, and lived experiences. This ongoing work as a clinician, educator, and researcher allows me to bring current knowledge, evidence-based practices, and a deeper understanding of children’s perspectives into my work with families. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth and healing. By creating a safe, accepting, and supportive environment, clients can feel empowered to explore their emotions, experiences, and strengths. I am passionate about play therapy and the opportunity to support children through their unique ways of communicating and processing the world around them. I especially enjoy Child-Parent Relationship Therapy and helping strengthen the connection between children and their parents. I also provide group play therapy to help children develop social skills, build confidence, and strengthen peer relationships. I believe children are resilient and capable of growth when they experience unconditional acceptance, understanding, and the freedom to express themselves. My goal is to walk alongside children and families as they discover their strengths and move toward healing.
