Introduction

I specialize in complex relational distress, body-based dilemmas/somatic issues, men’s issues, parenthood, anxiety and panic, depression, attachment wounds, and perinatal mental health. Trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, and Perinatal Mental Health Care, my work is systems-based, anti-oppressive, and grounded in safety, humor, creativity, and trust. Being a therapist is a profound, reciprocal gift for me. I deeply honor the privilege of bearing witness to people’s stories and earning the trust to help transform vulnerability and pain into safety and stability. I encourage you to push through the mental health stigma to get your needs met, just as someone with a broken leg would attend physical therapy! I am the Owner and Clinical Director for Arts in Counseling, a psychotherapy practice that offers 1) clinical therapy through creative arts therapists and 2) mental health wellness and support through professional artists. We take an active approaches to healing, prioritizing embodied practice. We may use movement or role play to engage the body, imagination, emotions, and relationship dynamics. Going beyond talk therapy gives our clients various ways to process and integrate experiences, in ways that words alone cannot, plus skills to apply beyond the therapy room.
