Lindsey believes counseling should be a place where people feel supported, understood, and accepted while also having space to better understand themselves and make changes that are meaningful to them. She has a particular passion for helping people heal from trauma and difficult experiences. Healing from trauma can change the way we see ourselves and the world, opening up new choices, freedom, and possibilities in places where we once felt stuck. It can help us recognize and honor what we needed to survive while creating more freedom to choose how we want to live now. Lindsey believes there is more than one way to heal and draws from different approaches based on the needs of the person sitting in front of her. This curiosity has led her to explore and train in a variety of approaches. She has practiced Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) since 2018, an approach that helps the brain process difficult experiences so they can feel less overwhelming. She is also trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. In sessions, Lindsey may use strategies to build greater awareness and connection, develop practical coping skills, recognize and build on existing strengths, and better understand the different parts of ourselves and patterns that have developed along the way. She is also interested in approaches that can complement traditional therapy, including nature, equine assisted therapy, creativity, Reiki, and Energy Psychology.
