Hi, I'm Lindsey Cooper, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #130006) based in Agoura Hills, CA. I hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor's degree from Mount Saint Mary's University. I got into this work because I wanted to be the kind of therapist I wish more people had access to — someone who takes you seriously without making you feel like a diagnosis, and who treats identity as part of the foundation of good care, not an afterthought. Over the past decade, I've worked across every level of behavioral health care, from PHP and IOP treatment settings to long-term outpatient therapy, which has given me a wide-angle view of what actually helps people heal, whether they're in crisis or steadily working through something over time. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, identity, and relationship work with teens and adults, and I bring real depth of experience supporting clients through substance use and co-occurring conditions when that's part of their story. My practice is LGBTQIA+-affirming and sex-positive by design, and I work especially well with millennials and Gen Z clients who want therapy that feels like an honest conversation, not a lecture or a performance. I'm trained in Brainspotting, DBT, and EMDR, and I move between different approaches depending on what a person actually needs — sometimes the work is cognitive and insight-driven, and sometimes it has to start in the body before insight is even possible.
