Introduction

Hi there, and thank you for considering us at Safe Place Counseling Group! My name is Lisa Y. Sanchez, LPC-MHSP. I bring over 20 years of professional counseling experience and hold a Master of Professional Counseling. I’ve been married since 1991 and am a proud mom to three grown children. My passion is helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, especially during seasons of feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I believe deeply in the healing power of being heard—and I strive to be a Safe Place where clients feel free to share their most vulnerable thoughts and feelings without judgment. Outside of the office, I’m a musician who enjoys coffee dates and being outdoors. My calming, relational nature helps clients feel seen, safe, and understood. I take time to build trust and work at your pace. Once we’ve built that foundation, I offer support in areas like negative thinking patterns, control issues, perfectionism, low self-worth, and religious or spiritual conflict. I also work with adolescents who are navigating peer pressure, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and challenges related to social media and identity. When you're ready, I'm here to meet you—and I'm not alone on this journey. We’re thrilled to welcome three incredible providers to Safe Place Counseling Group, each bringing their own gifts and expertise to our growing family: Kara Coats, LPC-MHSP, specializes in treating anxiety and grief. Her compassionate, client-centered approach makes her a deeply trusted support for those seeking emotional healing. Sherika McGhee, PMHNP, offers psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and integrative mental health care. Her presence allows us to offer more holistic, wraparound support for those needing both therapy and psychiatric services. Keli Alvarez, PLPC-MHSP, brings bright, uplifting energy into her sessions. With a strengths-based, positive psychology approach, she supports individuals working through depression, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Please join me in warmly welcoming them to the Safe Place Counseling family. We’re honored to walk alongside you. Warmly, Lisa Y. Sanchez, LPC-MHSP Owner & Clinical Director Safe Place Counseling Group
