Introduction

Hi, I'm Lisa. Over the course of our lives, we may experience painful or difficult emotions and events that are too much to face by ourselves. You may engage in unhelpful patterns that keep us stuck. You might try to avoid uncomfortable feelings, or control problems and unintentionally make them worse. You might be sick and tired of being sick and tired, but not sure where to start. It is my goal to work alongside you to create healthier coping skills and gain a new understanding that helps you get unstuck. Healing takes place when we feel safe to explore our feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Providing this safe space for clients is of the utmost importance. I bring a caring and direct approach to providing you with evidence-based interventions and fresh insight so that we can find solutions together for whatever issues you are experiencing. The mind and body have an incredibly capacity for healing when given the space and opportunity to do so. Clinical Experience My clinical experience has been in academic, and private practice settings. I have worked with a diverse range of individuals, couples and family systems. My favorite therapeutic approaches utilize emotion-focused and trauma-informed interventions that address the mind, body, and spirit. In addition to understanding how interventions can be effectively tailored to my clients, I also bring my former career in the entertainment industry and creative arts to my clinical practice, which allows me think outside the box and find innovative solutions to problems. I am confident in my ability to provide compassionate care to help you achieve your goals. Clinical Specialties While I have experience working with clients with diverse presenting issues, my areas of special interest are anxiety and depression, trauma or abuse, attachment wounds, codependency and self-worth issues, dysfunctional family systems, families impacted by addiction, and grief/loss. Education Master of Marriage and Family Therapy, Lipscomb University Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric, The University of California at Berkeley
