I’m Lona Joiner Maddox, a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) in Ohio, with over a decade of experience supporting individuals and families impacted by addiction. My journey began in 2012, inspired by the impact I witnessed within my family and community during the crack cocaine epidemic. Those experiences shaped my passion for helping others navigate addiction, trauma, and life’s challenges with compassion, dignity, and hope. I hold a **Bachelor’s in Human Services Management (2012), Master’s in Professional Counseling (2016), and Post-Master’s Certification in Trauma-Informed Care (2020).** At Joinher Counseling, I use **Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy** to provide individualized, trauma-informed care. I offer **individual and family counseling**, both in person and through Telehealth. My goal is more than helping clients stop using substances. **I help clients understand their story, strengthen their coping skills, rebuild relationships, discover their strengths, and create a healthier life they can sustain.** **You are not defined by your addiction. Your past is part of your story—not the end of it. Let’s work together toward healing, recovery, and meaningful change.**
