Introduction

Hi, I'm Lora. I'm so glad you're here. For nearly ten years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside women and their children in East Tennessee. Through that work, I've witnessed incredible resilience. I've also seen how trauma, relationships, and the systems we live within can shape the way we see ourselves, connect with others, and move through the world. Those experiences led me to become a therapist and to create Sage Room—a place where healing can happen with curiosity, compassion, and hope. I believe people make sense in the context of their stories. We are shaped by our relationships, our experiences, and the ways our brains and bodies have adapted to survive. Often, the strategies that once protected us become the very things that stop serving us and become barriers to the growth we seek. Therapy offers an opportunity to understand those patterns with kindness rather than judgment and to discover new ways of relating to ourselves and the people we love. My work is grounded in a family systems perspective, a trauma-responsive lens, and a body-aware approach. Together, these approaches help us look beyond symptoms to understand the whole person. While insight is valuable, I also believe lasting change happens when our nervous systems experience safety and our bodies begin to trust that the present is different from the past. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply longing to understand yourself more deeply, my hope is that you'll find a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported. Therapy isn't about fixing what's broken—it's about creating the conditions where healing and growth can naturally unfold. It would be an honor to walk alongside you.
