I am a first-generation Mexican-American. My parents are from the beautiful land of Mexico! Being Mexican is a big part of my identity; although I was born and raised in California, Mexico runs through my veins. My experience has been working with families, adults, children, and adolescents, all of whom have faced various challenges and situations. I hold a soft spot for teens; their tenacity and resilience drive me to be a better therapist. I work from a psychodynamic lens, with attachment theory often my go-to approach, focusing on childhood patterns and how they manifest in our present lives. For those who prefer not to delve too deeply, a solution-focused approach is effective in addressing current presenting issues. Lastly, God has been a big part of my life; therefore, I share his great work with my clients. I use a biblical perspective to help understand mental health and break the stigma that if you are experiencing symptoms such as anxiety, “you are not walking with God.” Needless to say, I respect your beliefs and avoid imposing my faith on others.
