I work with a wide variety of concerns including, anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, sleep issues and insomnia, health concerns, and relationship challenges. I approach concerns wholistically, as we all have many stories and experiences that brings us to where we are, in this moment. Is there something in your life that just doesn't feel right? You may be able to identify feelings with that or not, that's okay, it can be a feeling in the body to, that's where we hold emotions. We can navigate this together. Do you find yourself lying awake at night, or your mind feelings like it's on replay from past moments or fast forwarding to what ifs of the future? Are you experiencing insomnia, difficulty falling asleep and you aren't sure why? There is a treatment called CBT-I, which is a treatment for insomnia specifically. Have you noticed feeling stuck, little motivation in doing things you normally enjoy or feeling down or depressed? Have you been feeling more irritable, on edge, or small things feel big? This may be depression. I provide trauma informed therapy which includes EMDR and somatic interventions. Traumatic events can lead to unresolved or unprocessed emotions and distress held in our nervous system. EMDR is an evidenced based treatment that helps reprocess unprocessed emotions to a normal state, shifting to adaptive state. A metaphor for EMDR, to explain in basic terms, It's like having a nagging tooth ache, one day I look for it, but the pain is no longer there. That's what EMDR therapy is like for unprocessed distress and information. From a feeling perspective, as we process memories, memories are just memories, and don't hold the heavy emotions/feelings and body sensations and reactions, like they had in the past. That doesn't mean you still won't have normal feelings, it just won't feel like it first happened. The cool thing about this type of therapy is you don't have to repeat in words the events that happened in the past; you get to decide what you share in words and are always in the driver's seat, with the therapist as the guide, to support you in your healing. You can go as slowly as you need in therapy as it really is a process. I find great value and meaning in providing therapy. It is an honor to hear the many stories and witness the growth and empowerment of others. As a therapist, the goals from my perspective are to help you feel more empowered, feel the life in your life, process old stuff, learn new insights and skills, and help you identify and work towards your goals. Please note I do not bill insurance. Many people have out-of-network mental health coverage through their insurance, you would need to call and request information on benefits. I also accept health savings, health reimbursement account, and private pay through credit card. If using out of network coverage, If you have this coverage, you will need to initially pay up front and then request reimbursement through your insurance company. I can provide a super bill that you will likely need for reimbursement from your insurance company. We can discuss details further at consult.
