I’m Lori Santa Maria, a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC-T) in Arizona. I work with adults ages 18–65 and student-athletes ages 14 and older, offering counseling in person and through telehealth. My areas of focus include adult ADHD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, women’s issues, and sports mental health. My style is genuine, collaborative, and motivating. I draw from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to tailor our work to your needs and help you build resilience, confidence, and emotional wellness. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University and my Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from Arizona State University. As a former collegiate athlete and coach, I understand the pressures athletes face. I believe athletes are people first and athletes second. My experience includes work with Canfield Counseling, Arizona Restorative Psychiatry, the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team, and youth sports programming. Outside the office, I enjoy cheering on my son, camping, paddleboarding, traveling, and spending time outdoors. I receive direct clinical supervision from AZBBHE-approved supervisors Virginia Kuhn, MA, LPC, and Taylor Oberhelman-McLeod, MA, LPC.
