For as long back as I can remember, I have believed in the power and importance of relationships. Relationships are at the heart of who we are, how we grow, and who we become. In our early years, our closest relationships teach us how to be with others and influence how we see the world. This understanding is what has influenced my own belief in attachment-focused therapy for every age, because although we may learn one way to be in relationship when we are a child, our attachment style can be changed through our current relationships. I use Child-Centered and Synergetic Play Therapy with children, Person-Centered Therapy with teens, and Child Parent Relationship Therapy with parents. I believe that we all have within us the ability to heal and grow, though sometimes it can be hard to find. As a therapist my job is that of a guide to create the right environment to access that innate ability. I lean into emotions frequently as these are often the signposts that lead us to understanding our needs and self-beliefs. Trained in art, play and sand tray therapies, I use these modalities, as well as traditional talk therapy, to meet both clients and families where they are, creating an accepting and judgment free environment to explore, heal, and grow. Using various experiential therapies allows me to join in the client’s own journey of healing, providing access to what fits best for the client in the moment. I enjoy working with individuals ages 3-25 as well as families in all stages of the family life cycle. I have extensive experience working with individuals and families impacted by trauma. I support pre-teens, teens and young adults struggling to make sense of the world around them and impacted by anxiety, depression, and more. I welcome families adjusting to changes in their family structure through divorce, death, or other precipitating events & often work with families navigating gender and sexuality differences (in both parents and children) to create a new understanding and language that unifies the family in support of each other. I hope to hear from you and that we can begin your family's journey to improved relationships and overall wellness.
