People whose feelings are big and and painful want a counselor who won’t be overwhelmed by grief or trauma or anger or confusion. If you’ve ever been told that your emotions were too much, I might be the counselor for you. If you have experienced poverty, family chaos, traumatic experiences, or marginalization, the memories of these tough times linger in you. I help you develop the skills to steady yourself, and have space to honor your history and your life experiences, rather than being overwhelmed by them. You will gain confidence in your capacity to manage your emotions, learn to trust yourself more, and feel empowered as you work towards your life goals. I’m warm, empathetic and direct. I believe deeply in the essential value of each human being, and affirm all identities. I work from a multicultural framework, integrating expressive arts, and drama therapy, and using person-centered, existential, psychodynamic, and gestalt theories.
