Introduction

Do you find yourself repeating unhealthy patterns despite knowing and wanting something different for yourself? That's where I can help. I specialize in helping people who struggle from the effects of trauma, including relationships/dating, self confidence, self esteem, & shame. I've worked as a therapist in Canada and the US for over 20 years across various clinical settings including; inpatient, outpatient, community health, crisis counseling, & as a college professor. I currently live in Oregon and I am licensed to practice in OR (PCA) & Washington (LMHCA). My specialty is in trauma-informed care with advanced training in EMDR and IFS. I integrate neuroscience with psychology to help support lasting change - not just symptom management. If it seems like we might be a good fit, I invite you to reach out. I offer a free exploratory chat to find out how I work, how I may be able to help, and to answer any questions you may have. I am currently offering in person and telehealth sessions. My office is located in Hillsboro, Oregon. I also offer limited evening and weekend availabilities. I also offer EMDR Intensives, including weekend intensives (2 days/3 hours per day) and week intensives (3 days/2 hours per day) when clinically appropriate. Rates & Payments: 165$ per session for Individual tx and 185$ per session for couples tx. Sessions are 50 minutes in duration. Longer sessions are available as needed. Payment can be made via credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), Zelle, or check. *I offer out-of-network insurance options and private pay. Insurance & Reimbursement Options: ->I am considered an out-of-network provider. Many insurance plans offer coverage for out-of-network therapy. -> Click the link below to verify your out-of-network benefits coverage with me (free): mentaya.com/b/dn4q3j3AMNg9UyLQILyO ->After each session, I can provide you with a "superbill" for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement purposes. Or, if you prefer to avoid the hassle of submitting superbills and dealing with your insurance company, I partner with Mentaya - a company that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions. What are the benefits of private pay? ->No diagnosis required to begin therapy ->Your records stay completely confidential; nothing is shared with insurance. ->Therapy is fully personalized since we are not limited by insurance rules about session length, frequency, and treatment focus. EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Capella University) Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy (Dalhousie University) Bachelors Degree in Psychology (Dalhousie University) PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS: EMDR - Basic training (EMDRIA) EMDR - Certificate EMDR Skills for Trauma Treatment (Mindworks) EMDR - Certificate Advanced EMDR Skills for Complex Trauma (Mindworks) EMDR - Certificate in advanced EDMR therapy skills (Mindworks) EMDR - Certificate EMDR for Anxiety (Mindworks) IFS - 6 month training (IFS Institute) Gottman Method Couples Therapy- level 1 (Gottman Institute) CBT - Level 1 (Adler Faculty of Continuing Education) DBT - Treating Multi-Diagnostic, Complex individuals (Portland DBT institute) ACT - Depression & Anxiety Disorders (with Dr. Russ Harris at Psychwire) ACT - Basics (Praxis) GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE: As I am out of network, it is already established that you will not be using insurance. Also, my rate is posted. It is impossible for me to predict the number of sessions you would benefit from for several reasons. The number of sessions and your budget are in your control, as I am an Out of Network provider. I can say that people typically see me for at least 6 months to 1 year. The issues people often see me for tend to be related to anxiety, depression, grief, residual effects of trauma/PTSD, and issues around self-esteem/self-confidence. In processing these types of issues, everyone is utterly unique. It would not be ethical or therapeutic for me to assign a diagnosis prior to meeting you and with the treatment modalities I employ and am trained in.
