Luisa holds a master’s degree in Art Therapy from George Washington University and is a Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), a Qualified Mental Health Professional for Children and Adults (QMHP-C, QMHP-A), and a Resident in Counseling. She has experience providing individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, using a creative, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach. Luisa believes in the healing power of the creative process and works collaboratively with clients to support self-discovery, emotional expression, and personal growth. She begins by exploring each client’s goals and creating a safe, supportive environment where art-making can become a meaningful part of the therapeutic process. Through guided reflection and discussion, clients are encouraged to explore their experiences, emotions, and strengths in ways that may feel more accessible than words alone. Luisa has experience working with individuals facing trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress, behavioral challenges, acculturation concerns, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She is passionate about helping clients build insight, resilience, and healthier coping strategies while honoring each person’s unique story and cultural background.
