Introduction

Lydia's counseling approach is inclusive, collaborative, and eclectic, based on the humanistic approach of Narrative therapy, which sees individuals as the “authors” of their own stories with the power to rewrite narrative that do not suit them. Their approach focuses on examining an individual’s “dominant narrative,” which is the story of their life that has been thrust upon them by external forces (family, friends, society, etc.). Through this lens, Lydia works with clients to search for “sparkling moments” that counteract this less-than-desirable Narrative, allowing them to regain power in their relationship with concerns that may have felt impossible to overcome at one point. Lydia also believes in incorporating somatic work into the therapeutic journey, and strives to include somatic exercises and techniques in their work in order to help clients get back in touch with their body and its intuition. Therapy with them is supportive, compassionate, and rooted in empathy and sensitivity, offering a nonjudgmental place to process, heal, and grow. Lydia is deeply committed to providing an affirming, safe environment for neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC identities, and their space is interlaced with warmth, compassion, and authenticity, with the intention that all who work with them feel seen, heard, and supported throughout the entirety of their therapeutic journey.・゜-: ✧ :-
